Hello Serato DJs! If you've recently downloaded the Crate Hackers app and started building your crates, you may have noticed the "export to Serato Crate" option. However, there is something weird that can happen when you try to import your Crate Hackers crate into Serato. Don't worry, we're here to help!

Step 1: Build your crate in the Crate Hackers app.

Step 2: Click on "Export Crate" and select "Export to M3U" instead of "Export to Serato Crate". This will save your crate as an M3U file.

Step 3: Choose the location to save your file. We recommend creating a separate folder for all your Crate Hackers M3U files.

Step 4: Open Serato and scroll down to an empty space in your library.

Step 5: Click on "Files" and navigate to where you saved your M3U file.

Step 6: Drag and drop your M3U file into the empty space in your library.

Step 7: Voila! Your Crate Hackers crate is now in your Serato library, complete with all your metadata.

Why does this happen? It's possible that this issue is related to a feature in Serato called Custom Crate Columns. This feature allows you to have different columns per crate, but it can cause issues when exporting a Crate Hackers crate into Serato. By exporting your crate as an M3U file instead of a Serato crate, you can bypass this issue and have all your metadata intact.

We hope this guide helps you import your Crate Hackers crate into Serato with ease. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Happy hacking!
