Crate Hackers is a powerful tool that helps you organize your music and prepare it for your DJ sets. Once you've organized your music into crates within Crate Hackers, follow these steps to export them to various DJ software.

Exporting to DJ Software


Serato

  1. Export from Crate Hackers:

    • Open Crate Hackers and navigate to the Export menu.
    • Choose a folder on your computer where you want to save the crate (M3U file).
    • Click Export. The crate is now saved in the selected folder.

  2. Import into Serato:

    • Open Serato DJ software.
    • Drag the M3U file into the left menu pane of Serato.
    • Your crate is now ready to use in Serato DJ.

Virtual DJ

  1. Verify File Path:

    • Ensure your file paths are correct by checking the settings in the Crate Hackers app.

  2. Export to Virtual DJ:

    • Select Export to Virtual DJ within Crate Hackers.

Rekordbox

  1. Export from Crate Hackers:

    • Open Crate Hackers and go to the Export menu.
    • Choose a folder on your computer to save the crate (M3U file).
    • Click Export.

  2. Import into Rekordbox:

    • Open Rekordbox software.
    • Click File, then Import Playlist.
    • Select the M3U file, and click Open. 
    • Your crate is now ready to use in Rekordbox.

Denon Engine DJ

  1. Export from Crate Hackers:

    • Open Crate Hackers and navigate to the Export menu.
    • Choose a folder on your computer to save the crate (M3U file).
    • Click Export.

  2. Add to Apple Music:

    • Open Apple Music.
    • Option 1: Drag the M3U file into the All Playlists section on the left side.
    • Option 2: Go to the menu at the top, click File > Import, and select the M3U file.

  3. Refresh in Denon Engine:

    • Launch Denon Engine DJ software.
    • Navigate to the Apple Music Library.
    • Click Refresh Collection.
    • Your crate is now ready in Denon Engine DJ for performance.


Traktor

  1. Export from Crate Hackers:

    • Open Crate Hackers and go to the Export menu.
    • Choose a folder on your computer to save the crate (M3U file).
    • Click Export.

  2. Import into Traktor:

    • Open Traktor software.
    • Click Playlists, then Import Playlist.
    • Select the M3U file, and click Open. 
    • Your crate is now ready to use in Traktor.

Algoriddim DJ

  1. Export from Crate Hackers:

    • Open Crate Hackers and go to the Export menu.
    • Choose a folder on your computer to save the crate (M3U file).
    • Click Export. The crate is now saved in the selected folder.

  2. Add to Apple Music:

    • Open Apple Music.
    • Option 1: Drag the M3U file into the All Playlists section on the left side.
    • Option 2: Go to the menu at the top, click File > Import, and select the M3U file.

  3. Import into Algoriddim DJ:

    • Launch Algoriddim DJ software.
    • Navigate to the Apple Music Library section.
    • Locate your crate (playlist) in the Apple Music Library.

  4. Perform:

    • Your crate is now ready to use in Algoriddim DJ.

Exporting to M3U Playlists

You can also export your crates as M3U playlists, which are compatible with various DJ software and streaming services.

  1. Export from Crate Hackers:

    • Select Download to M3U.
    • Choose the destination folder for the file.

  2. Import into Your Software:

    • Drag and drop the M3U file into your DJ software or streaming service.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Select Tracks Before Exporting:

    • Ensure that the songs in the Track Matcher are selected. Without selected tracks, the M3U file won't include any music.

  • Keep Music in One Folder:

    • Storing all your music in a single folder can prevent exporting issues.

  • Verify File Paths:

    • Check that your file paths are correct in your DJ software's settings.

  • Restart Software After Exporting:

    • Restart your DJ software after exporting a crate to ensure it appears correctly.
