Want to discover new songs that mix well with your current track? Crate Hackers' Rabbit Hole feature is the answer! This AI-powered tool suggests tracks that blend seamlessly. Just type the song you're playing into the Crate Hackers search box, and the Rabbit Hole will work its magic, suggesting tracks that are a perfect match in terms of key, harmony, and BPM.

For example, if you are playing Zedd's "The Middle," the Rabbit Hole might suggest Demi Lovato's "No Promises" as the next song in your set because of its compatible key and BPM. You can also use this feature to find:

  • Remixes
  • Different versions
  • Purchase locations for songs

The Banger Button: Find the Hits Instantly!

The Banger Button is a separate tool that helps DJs using Serato quickly find popular songs (bangers). It sits on your Macintosh dock, and when clicked, it opens a lightweight display on the right side of your screen. The Banger Button recommends songs that are compatible with what you are currently playing in Serato in terms of key and tempo.

It uses the 60/40 approach, which means it prioritizes songs with high popularity, energy, mood, and danceability scores. You can then copy and paste or drag and drop these recommended tracks into your Serato playlist.

Magic Playlist Integration: Make Perfect Playlists

Crate Hackers acquired Magic Playlist, a website that makes it easy for anyone to create harmonic playlists. You can use Magic Playlist to build playlists based on a specific song or vibe. Just type in your favorite song, and the site will generate a playlist with similar tracks.

Magic Playlist lets you adjust various parameters, like:

  • Danceability
  • Popularity

...until you are happy with the flow. Then, you can save the playlist to Spotify for streaming.

Magic Sorter (Beta): Transform Your Spotify Playlists

The Magic Sorter turns any Spotify playlist into a mixable crate, which is a playlist specifically designed for DJs to use in a set. The Magic Sorter is currently in beta testing. You can find it on the Crate Hackers platform.

The Magic Sorter offers two sorting algorithms. You can choose the algorithm based on whether you want to prioritize accuracy or speed. You can also use additional sorting metrics to fine-tune your playlists, like:

  • Energy
  • Danceability
  • Valence
  • Popularity

Please be aware that these settings have a preset minimum for tracks to qualify for so some tracks will not make the list. These will be shown below highlight red.

Once you are satisfied with your crate, you can export it and save it to My Crates for song purchase and download.

Cloud Crates: Your Music Everywhere!
