Overview

One of the biggest DJ problems is duplicates. Some DJs have hundreds. Some have thousands. They clutter searches, cause errors, and slow everything down.

The AI Duplicate Killer in Crate Hackers is a smart duplicate remover built for DJs. It helps you spot and clean duplicate tracks while protecting the versions you actually use.

As you fix duplicates, your Library Health Score goes up. Your library becomes lean, reliable, and ready to play.

Accessing the AI Duplicate Killer

  1. From your CH Dashboard, run a Library Scan.
  2. On the homepage, click Duplicates.
  3. You will see groups of duplicate tracks listed together.

How It Works

  • Suggested Track: The system highlights the version it recommends you keep. Usually this is the best quality file.
  • Delete Selected: Choose the true duplicates and click Delete Selected to remove them safely.
  • Ignore Group: If you want to keep more than one version for example Clean and Explicit, or Short and Full edits click Ignore Group to skip that set.

Key Features

  • AI Powered Suggestions: Crate Hackers points to the version that is most likely the best quality.
  • Fast Clean Up: Delete many duplicates in only a few clicks.
  • Safety Controls: Use Ignore Group when you do not want to risk losing a version you like.
  • Library Health Score: Every resolved duplicate raises your score.

Future Improvements

Many members have asked for a Delete All Duplicates button. We are working on it, but we want it to be safe before we release it.

Planned updates include:

  • Checking if a duplicate track is inside your crates before deleting it.
  • Using play counts and other metadata to protect your most important versions.
  • More integrations. Right now we support Serato and VirtualDJ. Rekordbox is coming soon.

Example Use Cases

  • Cleaning up stacks of remixes for the same song and only keeping the edit you play.
  • Removing low quality or broken files that can cause errors during a set.
  • Boosting your Library Health Score before a big show or tour.
  • Speeding up searches so you find the right track faster.

FAQs

Q: Can I undo a deletion

A: Not inside Crate Hackers. Once you delete a file, it is permanent. If you are unsure, use Ignore Group instead of deleting.

Q: Will Clean and Explicit or Short and Full edits always be marked as duplicates

A: Sometimes they will. That is why Ignore Group exists, so you can keep useful versions and still clear the junk.

Q: What DJ software is supported

A: Duplicate detection works on your full library. Right now we support Serato and VirtualDJ. Rekordbox support is coming soon.
