Exporting your Crate Hackers crates into VirtualDJ is quick and easy once you configure your settings. Here’s the step-by-step guide.

Step 1: Enable M3U Playlists in VirtualDJ

  1. Open VirtualDJ.

  2. Go to Settings → Options.

  3. In the search bar, type M3U.

  4. Make sure all the M3U checkboxes are set to “Yes” (by default they are set to “No”).

    • Once enabled, you’ll see a new folder appear inside VirtualDJ called M3U Playlists.

? If you don’t see this folder, double-check that the settings are correctly set to “Yes.”

Step 2: Export a Crate from Crate Hackers

  1. Open Crate Hackers 11.

  2. Choose a crate (for example, Nick Spinelli’s Wedding Floor Fillers Crate).

  3. Select your matches:

    • Use Select First Match or Select All Matches to quickly link songs to your local files.

  4. Click Export.

  5. Make sure the option Export to VirtualDJ is set to Yes.

  6. Click Export again.

? If some tracks don’t have selected files, you’ll see a message like “10 out of 39 tracks have no selected files.” That’s okay — the crate will still export with the matched songs.

Step 3: Verify in VirtualDJ

  1. Close and reopen VirtualDJ.

  2. In the left-hand browser, go to M3U Playlists.

  3. You should now see your exported crate (e.g., Nick Spinelli).

✅ Done — your crate is ready to rock in VirtualDJ!

Alternate Method: Manual M3U Export

If the automatic export doesn’t work:

  1. In Crate Hackers, choose Export → Export to M3U.

  2. Select your M3U Path (the folder where you want the playlist saved).

  3. Export the crate as an M3U file.

  4. Open VirtualDJ.

  5. Drag the M3U file into the Side List.

  6. Create a new playlist or folder in VirtualDJ and drag the songs in.
