Before You Log In

Use the right email.

Make sure you log in with the same email address connected to your Crate Hackers account. Using a different email is one of the easiest ways to make the app look broken when it is just being annoyingly literal.

Install on Mac

  1. Download the Mac version from www.cratehackers.com/ch11.
  2. Open the downloaded file.
  3. Follow the install prompts.
  4. Move Crate Hackers to your Applications folder if prompted.
  5. Open Crate Hackers.
  6. Log in with your active Crate Hackers account email.

Mac note:

If your Mac asks for permission to open the app, approve it in your Mac security settings. This is a normal Mac thing. Very dramatic. Very Mac.

Install on Windows

  1. Download the Windows version from www.cratehackers.com/ch11.
  2. Open the downloaded installer.
  3. Follow the install prompts.
  4. Open Crate Hackers.
  5. Log in with your active Crate Hackers account email.

Windows note:

If Windows asks if you trust the app or installer, confirm that you downloaded it from the official Crate Hackers download page before continuing.

Best First Workflow

After installing Crate Hackers, do this in order:

  1. Log in.
  2. Choose your DJ software.
  3. Scan your music library.
  4. Build one simple crate.
  5. Export that crate to your DJ software.
  6. Test the crate before using it at a real gig.

Do not try to fix your entire library on day one. That is how a simple setup turns into a basement investigation with snacks.

Common Mistakes

  • Trying to log in without an active Crate Hackers subscription.
  • Using a different email than the one connected to your account.
