Use this guide when Banger Button cannot see Serato, shows the wrong track, or has no local matches. Set it up before your performance.

Connect and test

  1. Open Serato DJ on the same computer at least once so its library exists. Connect the drive containing your music.
  2. Open Banger Button and sign in with your Banger Button account.
  3. Open the gear menu → DJ Software → Serato DJ. If both Serato and VirtualDJ are installed, select the one you are actually using.
  4. In Serato, load and play a known local song. In Banger Button, open Home and check the detected artist and title.
  5. Allow the library to finish loading. Check a recommendation’s artist, title and edit before dragging an available local match into Serato.

Success looks like: Banger Button recognizes your test song and a local recommendation loads correctly in Serato.

If it says “No tracks detected”

Play a track in Serato, check the selected DJ software, then use Refresh. Use Retry if a connection error offers it. Start with a local file you can already play successfully in Serato.

If local recommendations are empty

  • Let Serato finish reading or analyzing newly imported music. Artist and title information help matching.
  • Clear Banger Button’s key and BPM filters to check whether they are hiding results.
  • Confirm your files are local and the drive is connected. Streaming entries in Serato are not local audio files.
  • A working connection does not guarantee a match for every suggestion, especially with a small library or unusual edits.

If a local track will not drag

Confirm the original file opens from its current location. On Mac, if the official Banger Button app reports a file-permission problem, follow its prompt in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access, then relaunch Banger Button at a safe break. Do not delete or rebuild your Serato database as a first troubleshooting step.

Open the gear menu and choose Report Issue, or contact support. Include both app versions, your operating system, one affected song and whether detection, matching or dragging failed. Reply to an existing support conversation if you already have one. Never send passwords or reset links.
