Cues is a small sampler inside Banger Button. Each cue library has eight pads for local audio. Try it at low volume before using it in a live set.

Load and play a sample

  1. Open Cues and select My Cues from the library dropdown.
  2. Click an empty pad to choose a local audio file, or drag a local file or available Serato library track onto it.
  3. Wait for the audio to load. Clicking a loaded pad selects it and starts playback.
  4. Use the waveform editor to adjust start and end points. Choose Single / 1× for one play, or Loop for repeating playback.
  5. Use Stop to end playback. Starting another pad stops the currently playing pad.

Organize samples for different gigs

Choose the folder button labeled New library, enter a name such as “Wedding intros,” add an optional category and choose Create. Switch collections with the library dropdown.

If a library is read-only, select My Cues or create an editable library to load your own samples. Clear pad removes that pad’s assignment; it does not delete the original audio file.

If a sample will not load or play

  • Use the desktop app and an actual local audio file. A streaming song listing is not an audio file.
  • Keep the source drive connected. If the file was moved, select it again from its current location.
  • Try a known working WAV or MP3 file to narrow down a file or decoding problem.
  • If the waveform loads but you hear nothing, check the computer’s output device and volume. Cues playback comes from Banger Button; do not assume it follows Serato’s or VirtualDJ’s mixer routing.

Check the sound at your actual output before a gig. Cue libraries reference their source files and are not a backup of your samples.
