Do your setup and update checks before arriving at the venue. A working local DJ library is still your fallback if internet access disappears.

Run a short pre-gig check

  1. Connect to the internet, open Banger Button and confirm you are signed in.
  2. Open the gear menu to see your Banger Button version. The public Mac and Windows release checked on September 23, 2026 was 2.7.14.
  3. The app checks for updates automatically. If it shows Update ready or Click to update, save your work and install at a safe break. Installation restarts Banger Button.
  4. Afterward, test track detection, one local drag, and any Cues or request features you plan to use.
  5. While online, open the crates, charts and songs you expect to need so their available information can be cached.

What works differently offline

An existing signed-in session can continue offline for up to seven days after its last confirmed online session. This is a sign-in grace period, not seven days of full online features. Reconnect before the app’s offline-session warning expires.

  • Previously cached crate, chart and recommendation information may remain available. Unopened lists or a song without cached recommendations may have no result.
  • Local audio still needs to exist on your computer or connected drive. Cached song information is not downloaded music.
  • New online searches, streaming features and guest song requests need a working connection.
  • The Offline — showing cached data banner means the information may be older. Reconnect when possible to refresh it.

If login or updating fails

Use your Banger Button purchase email and the login screen’s Forgot Password? option. Banger Button uses its own account; do not assume your Crate Hackers app password applies. If you already paid but cannot get access, contact support before purchasing again.

For an update error, keep the exact message and check your connection and free storage. The official download page is the installer source. Avoid deleting app data or switching to a test build as a repair step.
