You can export any Crate Hackers crate to VirtualDJ as an M3U playlist in just a few clicks.
Before You Start
- Crate Hackers v11.8.0 or later at www.cratehackers.com/ch11
- VirtualDJ installed
- Local files matched in Crate Hackers
- VirtualDJ folder path set in Crate Hackers Settings
Export Steps
- Find your crate — Search for it in Crate Hackers and open it.
- Enable Track Matcher — Toggle Track Matcher Options to On.
- Select your files — Click Select First to auto-pick the top match for every track, or expand individual tracks to choose specific versions.
- Export — In the Export Options bar, click the VirtualDJ icon under DJ SOFTWARE. Wait for the "Exported to VirtualDJ successfully" confirmation.
- Open in VirtualDJ — Switch to VirtualDJ, expand M3U Playlists in the left sidebar, and click your crate to load it.
? Tip: If your crate doesn't appear right away, collapse and re-expand the M3U Playlists folder to refresh.
Troubleshooting
Export fails? Open Crate Hackers Preferences → DJ Software:
- Confirm VirtualDJ is checked
- Verify the VirtualDJ folder path is correct (or click USE DEFAULT)
No M3U Playlists folder in VirtualDJ? Open Settings → Options & Tweaks, search m3u, and set all three to Yes:

Close the dialog — the M3U Playlists folder will now appear in your sidebar.
