You can export any Crate Hackers crate to VirtualDJ as an M3U playlist in just a few clicks.

Before You Start

  • Crate Hackers v11.8.0 or later at www.cratehackers.com/ch11
  • VirtualDJ installed
  • Local files matched in Crate Hackers
  • VirtualDJ folder path set in Crate Hackers Settings

Export Steps

  1. Find your crate — Search for it in Crate Hackers and open it.
  2. Enable Track Matcher — Toggle Track Matcher Options to On.
  3. Select your files — Click Select First to auto-pick the top match for every track, or expand individual tracks to choose specific versions.
  4. Export — In the Export Options bar, click the VirtualDJ icon under DJ SOFTWARE. Wait for the "Exported to VirtualDJ successfully" confirmation.
  5. Open in VirtualDJ — Switch to VirtualDJ, expand M3U Playlists in the left sidebar, and click your crate to load it.

? Tip: If your crate doesn't appear right away, collapse and re-expand the M3U Playlists folder to refresh.

Troubleshooting

Export fails? Open Crate Hackers Preferences → DJ Software:

  • Confirm VirtualDJ is checked
  • Verify the VirtualDJ folder path is correct (or click USE DEFAULT)

No M3U Playlists folder in VirtualDJ? Open Settings → Options & Tweaks, search m3u, and set all three to Yes:

  • showM3UAsFolders
  • browserAutoExportM3U
  • browserShowLegacyM3UPlaylists

Close the dialog — the M3U Playlists folder will now appear in your sidebar.
