An M3U is a playlist of file locations. It is not a folder of audio files. Use it when your DJ software accepts M3U imports.
Save the playlist
- Open the crate in the desktop app and check the local track matches.
- Choose M3U from the export options.
- Choose an easy-to-find destination folder and save.
- In your DJ software, use its playlist import or file browser to open the saved M3U.
- Compare the track count and load several tracks.
Using another computer or drive
The destination computer needs access to the actual music at usable file paths. Copying only the M3U does not transfer the tracks. Keep your original library intact while you test any transfer workflow.
Choose a specific guide
For Engine DJ, djay or another application, check its current playlist-import options for your operating system. Do not assume every M3U file can be dragged directly onto a deck.
